Job Description
New Porgera Limited, a leading name in the mining industry, is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Scaffolder to assist in handing scaffolds to join our Fixed Plant Maintenance Department. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient setup and dismantling of scaffolding structures within our mining site.
The Ideal Candidate Must Have
- Essential
- Minimum of Grade 10 or above Education level
- Proven experience as a Scaffolding in building complex and hanging, preferably in a mining or heavy equipment environment.
- Strong understanding of scaffolding techniques and safety procedures.
- Ability to interpret and follow technical manuals and specifications.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Safety hazard awareness in JHA or JSA, Zero Tasol, Take 5, FLRA, Risk Assessments
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the work of the scaffolder
- Carrying, declaring and clearing scaffolding material
- Tidies up the workplace or house keeping
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on scaffolding equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Assist in the construction, assembly, maintaining and dismantling of tubular scaffolding
- Adhere to all safety protocols, guidelines, and regulations during scaffolding operations.
- Identifying the risks in their work area and using the correct controls.
- Reporting to the Supervisor immediately any actual or potential unsafe conditions or activities, mishaps, incidents, accidents, injuries or illnesses in the work place.
- Using personal protective clothing or equipment as provided.
Mobilization Requirement
- All Applicants must have an up to date police clearance Certificate, Acquired within the last 6 months
- Ability to successfully pass a pre- employment medical and drug and alcohol test
- The Roster is 20 days on and 8 days off
- Maintain a high level of health and safety awareness and comply with NPL Occupational Health & Safety Policy and all health and safety rules and procedures.
- Be a Local Porgera under Cat 1a - SML, Cat 1b - LMP or Cat 2 – Other Porgera
- Available in the Porgera Valley and can start as soon as possible
